Waller Corporation Project Superintendents are responsible for on-site job coordination of the projects under their direction. Project superintendent responsibilities include code compliance, safety management, quality control, work coordination, schedule compliance, corporate representation, and project documentation.

Detailed Work Activities:

  • Schedule and coordinate all subcontractors and building activities.
  • Monitor quality.
  • Administer weekly job-site meetings.
  • Take complete responsibility for overall project schedule.
  • Produce daily field reports.
  • Prepare safety reports and monitor safety compliance.
  • Read and understand construction specifications and plans.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of workers or trades.
  • Inspect project operations to determine specification compliance.
  • Read work orders, instructions, formulas, or processing charts.
  • Resolve or assist workers in resolving work problems.
  • Establish work goals and motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Prepare reports.
  • Analyzes and resolves worker problems and recommends motivational plans
  • Records information, such as personnel, production, and operational data, on specified forms and reports.
  • Directs and leads workers engaged in construction activities.
  • Trains workers in construction methods and operation of equipment.
  • Locates, measures, and marks location and placement of structures and equipment.
  • Coordinates with staff and worker to ensure production and personnel problems are resolved.
  • Analyzes and plans installation and construction of equipment and structures.
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of construction trades workers.
  • Examines and inspects work progress, equipment and construction sites to verify safety and ensure that specifications are met.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods and equipment performance to increase efficiency and safety.
  • Reads specifications, such as blueprints and data, to determine construction requirements.

Experience:

  • Ground Up: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Construction: 5 years (Preferred)

Responsible for designing, building, installing, and repairing structures, fixtures, furniture, and other items using different types of materials including wood and steel.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the layout of the project.
  • Estimate height, width, length, and other proportions.
  • Select materials.
  • Follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients
  • Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall.
  • Utilize chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures.
  • Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.
  • Work on top of stilts, ladders, and the top beams of buildings.
  • Check work along the way to ensure it's up to code and specifications.
  • Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure.
  • Work with prefabricated buildings.
  • Install cabinets and molding.
  • Create structures for pouring concrete.
  • Erect scaffolding.
  • Build tunnel bracing.
  • Build concrete forms for tunnel or sewer construction project.
  • Replace panes of glass, ceiling tiles, and doors.
  • Install partitions, doors, and windows.
  • Move and install machinery.

Pay is based on Experience.
Must have tools of the trade and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs various physical duties as assigned.
  • Maintain all safety standards.
  • Moves, secures, installs, builds, loads, or unloads materials.
  • Performs some specialized tasks which may require on-the-job training.
  • Effectively using heavy and light equipment, depending on the job site/assignment.
  • Moves items from place to place, according to direction from the site supervisor.
  • Moving tools, equipment, or other materials as directed in plans or by the supervisor.

Laborer Qualifications/Skills:

  • Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines
  • Attentive to detail and always alert to ensure safety
  • Able to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers
  • Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
  • A high school diploma is an asset
  • Ability to safely operate various vehicles and equipment
  • Driver’s License and transportation
  • Previous experience, especially in a particular industry, preferred
